The colours include: white, red, blue, yellow and green. In Tibetan Buddhism the prayer flags are indispensable. According to tradition, the prayers printed on the flags are spread by the wind and so make a positive contribution to the environment. Tibetan prayer flags with images of The Four Friends: an elephant, monkey, hare and partridge (bird) on each other's backs under a fruit tree. This performance has its origins in the Buddhist legend Tittira Jataka and is about cooperation and respect.
